While Nonna was here, Olivia had a field trip to the zoo and I was asked to chaperone. It was very cool and significantly better than I thought it might be. It is very different and not a typical zoo that you might find in the US. Not sure animal rights groups would have enjoyed it--lets just say it was easy to spot the animals in their "cozy" enclosures. It wasn't horrific conditions, but not a large lush enclosure animals in other zoos enjoy. There were a lot of hands on experiences where they got up close with the animals that made it really fun for them.

Feeding the elephant!
The zoo keeper then told the class that they were going to watch the elephants give themselves a bath. Once the elephants got water in their trunks, the sprayed the class instead of themselves!! The kids loved it :)
