Walking

I have not done any sort of true exercise since before I got pregnant with Olivia--really it has been that long!  While I don't live a sedentary life by any stretch (I rarely get a chance to sit down even to eat a meal), I don't like to exercise.  Now that life has slowed down as we wait wait wait to move, Eliza and I have been on an exercise kick. We go on walks probably 4 times a week.  Our neighborhood is fun to walk through as there is a lot of activity going on-lots of construction to monitor and lots of other people and dogs on the walking trail.  It is also perfect for my little "snacker girl".  She has her super tiny breakfast and then is ready for a snack about 30 minutes later.  So we just pack up snack time for the stroller.  Win win! :)

After a few weeks of our little routine, she decided she wanted to walk too.  While it is hard for me to stop and smell the roses sometimes, it is good to slow down and check out every little crack, pine cone, squirrel, and bug we come across.  I try to make it about 80% of the way before she demands to get out and walk.

We love our walks around here too and it is soooo hard to stop and smell the roses. I want my exercise, not a leisurely stroll. Their wonder at the simple things is so special though!
