Packing up

I guess it is really going to happen!

Breakfast the next morning among all of the boxes!

Our entire villa in AD is ceramic tile.  We went ahead and ordered some rugs to take with us.  This one barely made it. It got back-ordered and UPS delivered it 45 minutes before the moving truck was sealed shut and drove away!

It takes 2 months for our shipment to make it to AD.  So, for several reasons we decided to camp out in our house with borrowed everything until we fly!  Just so everyone doesn't think we are nuts, here are our reason: Olivia's school over there has almost the entire month of December off and we most likely would not have been able to go anywhere for Christmas because of visa reasons.  We have lots of support here with friends and family to borrow the essentials from.  In AD, we would be living in temporary housing that is not very family friendly (think hotel with kitchenette) that did not allow dogs (where would Maya have gone?!?).  By staying until January 1, we get to enjoy football in the right time zone, cooler weather of Fall, Halloween, and we spend one last holiday season in Texas.

By camping out in our house, Olivia could continue riding the bus without disruption, we aren't crashing anyone's house, the dog has an easy place to stay, and it is fun and different!  Thankfully, our good friends, The Grings, just finished using their crib and let us borrow it for Eliza. Mike and I slept on an air mattress for two nights before renting a U-Haul and borrowing a queen size bed, two arm chairs, and 6 dinning chairs from Nonna and Papa!  Once we had a real bed, the rest just didn't matter.  I am actually really enjoying living a very clutter free life :)

When you have no toys, lock your dog in your empty room and give her bear hugs :)
