2 1/2 Years Old!

Eliza Louise, the little sunshine of our family, turned 2 1/2 November 23rd. I know that we are super biased, but she is just adorable.  Her huge smile and little blond curls just melts us.  She is our fiery, flirty, mischievous, pure sweetness, sassy, social, empathetic, exploring love bug.

The biggest development of the last couple of months: SHE FINALLY LIKES BOOKS!!!  Wahoo!  So exciting!  Another big development, we are finally starting to un-baby proof the house.  It seemed the older we got, the more baby proofing we had to do.  We are now seeing the reverse happening.  I got to take off the door handle locks on the guest bathroom door.  We can even leave the soap dispenser out without a sudsy soapy mess creation.

Her language makes my SLP heart sing.  She is a chatty chatty Cathy.  She has soooo much to say.  My friend Jennifer, another SLP, told me I should introduce Spanish to her as it might slow her "motor mouth" down a bit ;)  Almost everyday I hear a 10+ word utterance.  An example, "Mama, help me lock the door so Maya can't get in".  She is also very intelligible.

This month we had to say goodbye to the paci.  I have been putting it off because of the impending move, but I couldn't take it anymore.  It was an all day battle to keep it away from her.  We went to the dentist and they told me it was really time.  Her over-bite and open-bite were getting really pronounced.  That was the last straw.  I decided we were going to be brave and just do it despite the very long plane ride we have in store!  It was rough, but we lived through it.  It took a couple weeks, but we made it to the other side.  The "Paci Fairy" came and brought her a little puppy that barks.  We did the snipping technique we used with Olivia and it is amazing how quickly it works.  The Paci-Fairy came everyday snipping a little bit more until we were down to almost nothing.  She is still sleeping with the two little plastic nubs :)

This little lady could live on nothing but dairy.  She loves yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, cheese sticks, milk...she really could be happy eating nothing else.  She could also play with nothing else but babies.  She loves to put them night night.

She adores her big sister and wants do everything she does.  It is really sweet to watch these two girls grow up together.  They are such a nice balance for each other.  Eliza helps Olivia take risks and Olivia helps Eliza to take fewer risks :)  Love them both to the moon and back.
