Turkey Day

We had such a lovely and super fun Thanksgiving Day with so many of the great friends we have met since arriving here.  We are truly thankful for landing in Abu Dhabi, finding our amazing villa, receiving seats at both of the girls' fantastic schools, the awesome travel we have already done, all the fun we have had with so many wonderful and caring new friends we have made, and most of all our little family's true happiness.  Mike and I both truly want to pinch ourselves everyday.  We couldn't be happier and are enormously grateful for every single bit of it.

 Turkey girls!

Eliza was not at all thrilled to be wearing this dress.  When I took it off of her at the end of the night, she said, "I hate this turkey dress and I am never wearing it again"!  HA!  She is too funny.  Not sure why she didn't like it, maybe orange isn't her color?

 Love Mrs. Linda's chalkboard

One of my contributions to the feast, cranberry pear sangria.  It was DELICIOUS!

Getting everything ready.  One of the best parts of doing a friend potluck Thanksgiving, everyone offers to bring the yummiest thing from their families' recipes.  Really, all of the food was out of this world!

Will and Les both carving their turkeys (we needed three turkeys we had so many people!).

I made Mike do an oven roasted chicken, as Les was doing a smoked.  He was not happy about it.  It was really good though.  Our first turkey!

 Mmm, Turkey!
