International Day

One of the coolest events at ACS is International Day, a day to celebrate the diversity of the amazing campus.

Eliza and I dropping Olivia off at school...of course, Eliza won't look at the camera

All of the girls in her class

The UAE is first in the parade of nations

I get so teary at these events.  It is lovely seeing the passion and pride people have for their country.  Love that there is "Palestine"

So many different countries ready for the parade

There is lots of traditional dress from each country

USA, USA, USA!!!!  We are by far the largest crowd.  Watch out when USA is announced, they come running!

Lady Liberty

Eliza, Abdul, Olivia, Sophia, and Tala...Eliza is not quite sure about what Abdul is doing! :-)

After the parade, Eliza and I had some time to kill before it was Olivia's time to go out and explore the booths on the field.  We hit, where else--Mommy's addiction, Starbucks, of course!!!

 Cheers!

Uncle Sam---again, Eliza is not so sure

Miss Grumpy Pants in front of the USA tent.

 Great welcome sign

This year and last, Olivia wanted to go to the Canadian booth right away

O with some Syrian musical performers

At the Moroccan tent.  Thankfully, Mrs Linda was with me and helped Olivia complete her mission of getting the most countries visited possible.  The thing around her neck is her "passport".  At every booth, they give you a stamp.  There were 40 some countries represented and Olivia and Mrs. Linda only missed 3!  They have a game plan for next year already!  She was not at all interested in the snacks or treats they had to offer, she just wanted the stamp in her passport!  That is so Olivia!! :-)

The Lebanese tent always has the best food!  Yummy shawarmas and cheese fatayer

Syrian musicians

 At the Emirati tent

 Henna, again!

 With Lady Liberty

 O's turn with Uncle Sam

 Tala, Nina, Amna, and O

My two little American girls!  Look at their cheeks.  It was unseasonably hot, close to 100 degrees and no shade.

Wiped out!!!!!  Yes, she requested an outfit change for no reason, a common occurrence these days.
