February Fun

My girls!  This is getting more and more rare as Eliza is now commonly refusing to wear dresses that have "buttons or zippers".  She is also trying to fight wearing a bow.  My greatest fear is being realized. :-( I just knew she was going to be like this!!

Cookie cake at school to celebrate 6 1/2!!

Random!  A bird walked into our house.  The girls thought it was super cool.  It just walked out after pecking around and not finding anything interesting.  We leave the door open for Maya to be able to come in and out now that the weather is nice.  We won't be able to do this for long.

Super fun "Writing Celebration" in Olivia's class.  She got to read me a story she wrote.  Once everyone read their story to their parent, they swapped and read it to other parents in the class.  It was super cute.

She wrote a book about a scientist named, "Raya", after my sweet friend and her friend Naia's, mom.  It was so cute!

She finally lost that pesky front tooth that has been loose since November!  The other one is now loose.

Our tooth fairy dusted her in Pixie Dust!

We hosted a super fun BBQ and these are the only pictures we took!  Mike smoked two briskets and everyone brought all of the sides.  It was a blast.  We had 50+ bodies in our house!

BBQ ready!  Eliza refused to wear her cowboy boots :-(

"You're a great catch, Valentine".

I made over 40 for Eliza's two classes and of course, she was sick that morning! I took them up there anyway.

She went over to Mrs. Linda's while I went to go work out.  Lacey sure did a great job taking care of her while I was gone!

Eliza's newest obsession is straightening her hair.  She wants me to do it every morning!  Sorry, but we just don't have that much time!  So, I straighten it on the weekends for her.

So when it is 91 degrees in February, we go to the beach and watch the Red Bull Air Race!

The white and red pylons are what the planes have to fly through.

Red Bull car

An arial shot of the race course.  We were on the beach to the right

Some friends and I decided to take the quick drive to Dubai to go to their grocery stores one day after drop off.  So funny all of the things we got excited about.  Dubai just has better Western expat stores.  We got excited over real Q-tips, hamburger dills, Charmin toilet paper, cereal, egg noodles, Blue Bell Ice-cream, and more.  We loaded up my entire car!

The girls have been loving these stickers books their cousins Emery and Delia got them for Christmas.  Cute!

Eliza went to a super cute cooking birthday party at a local little cafe.

Helping crack the egg to help make the cupcakes

 Stirring the batter

Rolling out the dough for her pizza

Yummy pizza!

We had a couple days of icky sand storms.  I didn't think it looked too bad one afternoon and decided to go for a run.  I didn't make it too far.  97 and a sandstorm are not really ideal running conditions.

I thought it was funny that the background of my weather app looked just like it did outside

My sweet friends, Nancy and Christa at our friend, Angie's surprise 40th birthday party

We were all just rolling over this one.  Angie's present was an iPhone 6 except all Gary gave her was the empty box.  He wanted to wait to get it when he is in the US in a couple weeks.  It was too funny when Angie started "talking" on the box.

The girls and I went to an art birthday party and they made these cute little decoupage pieces.

Abu Dhabi is starting to give the streets proper names.  Before it was just numbered streets.  They want people (expats and locals) to learn more about the culture and not just know the street numbers.  The problem is, they aren't very creative with the naming.  This is my favorite intersection here: "Hamdan Bin Mohammed" and "Mubarak bin Mohammed".  Seriously, how are we supposed to remember the difference between these two "Mohammed" streets?!?!

Here is another super creative one...
