Bike Race Day!

Eliza's little preschool, Bright Beginnings, does such a great job on having little special days for the kids.  We have had pink day, where the kids all wore pink and the entire nursery was decorated in pink.  They had a Winter Wonderland day with fake snow, blue day, orange day, etc.  Last Thursday was Bike Racing day.  They closed off the street behind the school and held bike races all day for each of the classes.

Eliza insisted Mike take her to school this day.  He called me later to tell me that she was the only one with a tricycle and not a bike with training wheels!  Ouch...okay looks like we need to get her a bike!

 Ready to race!

So, her little legs were moving sooo fast, but she was in like second to last place due to the lack of proper equipment! :-)  That night while snuggling in her bed, she said, "Oh Mama, I was sooo fast".  Love the innocence.  She had no idea she was almost dead last!

The awards ceremony.  Everyone got a medal--ones that they had made themselves.  Eliza got special recognition that she completed the race in sandals.  I cannot convince her to wear closed toe shoes.  She tells me she will be fine and won't be cold or have trouble riding her trike in sandals!  This is her new preferred outfit, jeans and a long sleeve t-shit--the EXACT outfit Olivia REFUSED to wear in -20 when we lived in Canada!

Her sweet class!  I think 3-4 of them will go to ACS next year with her (fingers crossed we all get in!)

With her teachers, Ms Claire and Ms. Imelda
