Eliza photography en route to Oman. The landscape is completely different in Oman than in the UAE. This was a 5 hour drive with the last hour going uphill through very windy, steep roads. At the base of the mountain, they check to make sure you have 4X4 before allowing you to proceed.
This AMAZING Anantara hotel just opened in October.

We happened to arrive the night of the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. They had appetizers and yummy mulled wine in this cool patio area
Olivia asked for lemonade and they brought her Sprite. This was her first taste of Sprint. She didn't love it....Eliza did, not surprising!
There were carolers and Santa!
They each got a gift
The resort at night
Cool light fixture
The next morning...a little pj foot dip in the pool
Working a Sudoku puzzle with Nonna
I don't often ask any locals for a photo and I almost didn't this time, but couldn't resist with the backdrop. After I took it, they asked me to take a photo with the man on the left. Turns out, he is the Minister of Tourism, there to check out the new hotel. We chatted for a while about how they are trying to increase American tourism in Oman.
Mike, John and I set out for a two hour guided hike through three different abandoned Omani villages. It was so very interesting with beautiful scenery. Thankfully the girls didn't come. We had several spots with uneven terrain with not a lot in between us and huge drops
Next up in our Omani adventure, The Shangri-la in Muscat. We returned again to the place Mike and I traveled to when I was pregnant with Olivia.
Christmas tree on the beach!
This place never gets old. It is just stunning!
Cheers! Yummy breakfast. This family loves a good breakfast buffet!
