Happy Birthday, America!

Olivia went to a twice a week, summer camp at her new school that starts in the Fall.  They had a parade around the halls for the parents right before the 4th.  They taught them to say, "Happy Birthday, America".  We heard that a lot for a few days.

We then drove to Rockport for the annual Stobaugh 4th of July Rockport madness.  It lived up to expectations.  Lots of cousin fun!

Fishing with Daddy :)

Best one of the four cousins

Watching the fireworks with Daddy.  Maybe next year Eliza will be ready for watching them out on the water with everyone

We went to the aquarium in Corpus the day after the 4th.  It was fun, tiring and HOT!

 Aiden and a hermit crab

 LOL!

Getting a closer look at the sting rays

 Haylie was super brave!

Taking a ride on Pong Pong's new boat :)

 Pool fun!

She LOVED the umbrella pole and gave us all a huge giggle

 Sweetness

Poor uncle Matt got to play the "I throw my paci and you pick it up" game the whole way back home ;)

Soccer Tots

We are official soccer parents!  Mike is taking Olivia to "soccer" (Soccer Tots) every Sunday and she adores it!  Mike went to Academy and outfitted her in all purple, her favorite color.

Ella and Sophie are in the class before hers.  On the first day, she sneaked in to their closing stamp time and got an extra stamp :)

She looks like a gazelle while playing soccer.  One of the moms asked if she was in dance because she prances around :)

Happy Birthday, Colton!!

We had a BLAST at Colton Lewis' birthday party!!!  Olivia wants to go to his pool for every birthday party now.

Eliza was absolutely fearless!  She just kept crawling straight into the water over and over.  She loved it and Mike and were exhausted from chasing her!

 Yummy ice cream!

 Delicious!

Believe it or not, this was Olivia's first time in a bounce house!

First Astros Game

We went to Olivia and Eliza's first baseball game.  Olivia was in awe of the entire thing and wanted to know when it was her and Daddy's turn to go play baseball on the field :)  Eliza was another story....

 SILLY!

 First ballpark hotdog!

Eliza's first taste of juice.  She stole her sister's juice box that came in the kid's meal and refused to let go!  Maybe next time there will be more than a few sips left.

We all took turns keep Miss E entertained.  Puffs at the ballpark!

Heading home early. We made it through maybe 8 innings, though.  Astros won with many home runs!

Thanks for the awesome tickets, Aunt Murf!!

Sweet Sisters

How sweet are my two girls!?  They really play together well.  Olivia has a lot of patience for a little one year old coming in and usually wrecking whatever she was working on. Olivia chose their outfit, "Mama, I wanna be matchy matchy with Eliza today" :)

Eliza decided she had had enough of the sand box and went on her first backyard exploration trip.

Lightning Strikes

While Mike was in Canada (of course!), our house got struck by lightning.  Thankfully, there was no major damage as it was isolated to the light fixture in Eliza's room, the garage door opener, and some part on our brand new a/c.  We heard the very loud pop and several lights went out.  I thought it was loud, but didn't think we got hit.  I went out to the garage and flipped a couple breakers thinking that was it.  After about 10 minutes, I walked down the hall to put Eliza down for a nap and then smelled smoke.  Being home alone with two babies, I called the fire department.  They told me to stand outside (in the rain) and wait for them to come.  I instantly began prepping Olivia for what was about to happen: big red fire truck, loud siren, lots of big men in fire suits coming to help.  It made a huge impression on Olivia and she is still telling the story today.  She has also now developed a healthy fear of thunder.  The firemen did not think we should stay at the house and shut the entire power off to the house until an electrician came to inspect all of the wiring.  Here I was with a baby in desperate need of a nap and packing in the dark to go stay at Nonna and Papa's. Of course I had gone to the grocery store that day and the fridge was full of food (and three nice bottles of champagne!).

It blew the light switch off the wall

Eliza's fried light fixture

The firemen think it hit the tree first and then traveled through its roots to the house.  If you look closely, you can see the line of stripped bark.

Only after we got home two days later did I notice the burn marks on Eliza's lovie that was in her crib.  It really made me realize how lucky we were that she wasn't asleep in that crib when it happened and that it wasn't worse than it was.  The money it cost to repair the few items seemed like nothing, knowing we were all safe.

Father's Day

The day after Eliza's birthday party was Father's Day and Ducky and Pong Pong hosted a brunch for everyone.  Lots of yummy food and good times were had by all!
