I have always wanted to go to Amsterdam. There was nothing specific that I was dying to see there, I just wanted to go and see it. We decided to go for a stop over trip on our way home to celebrate Michael turning the big 4-0!!! We were pleasantly surprised at just how much we loved it.
My sweet little reader. We arrived in Amsterdam early in the morning and our apartment wouldn't be ready until mid afternoon. We had an interesting time getting our bags to a restaurant the apartment owner also owned so that we could set out for the day.
I love this picture. Maybe its that jean jacket and crazy curly hair :-)
Tulips! One day I hope to return during real tulip season.
One of the coolest things we did: The Rembrandt Museum
Another country, another Subway lunch
We found the most amazing little apartment in such a great location. It was just fabulous.
A giant copy of "The Milkmaid", a painting by Vermeer
Such cool architecture
The real deal! "The Milkmaid" by Vermeer found in the Rijksmuseum
Eliza LOVED the doll house in Rijksmuseum. She took about 20 pictures of it. I was so cute.

Anne Frank House. This made such an impression on my girls. It was so interesting and I am glad we went
Michael's actual birthday! We had dinner at a delicious French restaurant our guide book recommended; it was on the same street as our apartment
