This whole thing was only ours!
Indoor/outdoor living room
We had three bedrooms, all just like this
Our outdoor bathroom
The view from our bed!
Main entrance to the villa
The staff made us a full breakfast each morning
The girls' outdoor bathroom!
Our first day out and about, our first stop was a beautiful white sand beach, Nusa Dua.
A Balinese surfer helped Olivia stand up a few times and "surf"
Next up, we took a boat to Turtle Island. Quite touristy, but the girls had a blast
Sea turtles!
I was less than enthusiastic, but got talked into holding this giant bird
Olivia, our fearless one, held all kinds of animals: snakes, bats, birds, lizards...
My sweet toothless girl!
Giant sea turtle
Our next stop, the beautiful sea temple, Uluwatu.
Just stunning! 250 foot cliff over the Indian Ocean
In one area of the temple, there were tons of monkeys. They are very savvy. This one stole someone's water bottle, chewed a hole in the bottom to drink and knew how to unscrew the top.
Last stop, Jimbaran Bay for sunset dinner.
Mike went in and picked out what fresh seafood we wanted from a case and they brought it all out prepared all different ways. It was delicious!
After a morning of swimming at the villa...
We went to the highlight of Eliza's entire trip, Potato Head Beach Club
Delicious food and drinks for us
Super fun swimming with lots of kids for the girls!
Love these silly girls. The villa staff offered to take and pick us up from Potato Head. When he was first getting everything loaded, he put the carseat and booster in the van. Once I got in, we found that there were no seat belts at all. Well, no need for carseats without seat belts! So here we are just flying around the back of the car. It has to be safer than all of the small children we saw on mopeds. Thankfully, we didn't have far to go.
The next day, our first stop was Pura Tanah Lot Temple. You can only access this temple during low tide.
We had to wade through the water to get to it.
My cute girl with some holy men
The entrance to the temple area
They have little coffee houses along the roads to the tourist attractions serving "Luwak coffee". This is coffee berries containing the coffee beans that are eaten by Asian palm civets, as small mongoose type animal, defecated, cleaned, and then roasted. We had to try it once. It was actually pretty good.
Here is the sample of teas and coffees we tried. It was in a really nice setting, the middle of a rice field.
Next stop, some very picturesque terraced rice fields
Jatiluwih, named a UNESCO cultural landscape.
Our slogan of the trip was a "everybody's happy", paying homage to my friend Christa's "everybody gets a trophy". We went to a highly acclaimed "see and be seen" restaurant, KU DE TA, and with some sticker books and cocktails, everybody was happy! :-)
After KU DE TA, we walked over to one of the oldest hotels in Seminyak, The Oberoy. It was so neat and we would love to go back and stay there. Beautiful traditional Balinese architecture. Walking around the property, we walked past some Balinese musicians. Eliza got to "play" with them (Olivia had fallen asleep!).
The next night we just stumbled upon this fantastic traditional Balinese dance show at a restaurant the villa had recommended. The girls LOVED it and wanted their picture with all of the dancers after each set.
Eliza was so cute sitting right next to the dancers.
She then scooted over next to her sister. Love how much they love each other
Olivia got to try on the boy's hat
LOVE this picture. They were in heaven!
So sad to have to say goodbye to this amazing villa! We absolutely had the best time
One last delicious breakfast
