The old trusty portable DVD player. Four hour brunches and not the most fun for two little ladies. We are so old school. Our iPad got stolen in Spain and we just haven't really seen the need to replace it. They don't mind!
Just hanging out in the middle of the F1 track amongst some yachts! :)
Olivia put her outfit together...I think she did great!
Next up: realizing a dream for Olivia, going to The Top of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. She has been dying to do this!
Somehow we got directed into the VIP room. We were a little confused, but went with where they told us to. We were thinking all was good until we reached the last check point and they realized we only had the normal tickets. That put us back at the end of the line. What we thought was going to be a quick trip up to the top turned out to be a couple of hours waiting to get up there. Cool, but not really worth the long wait around Christmas time!
We finally made it to "The Top" of Burj Khalifa

Checking out all of Dubai
It took us a minute to figure out that these were the fireworks for New Years, which was the next day. Crazy technical. It was a incredible fireworks show!!
Olivia checking out the computerized "binoculars". It had recognition software so that everywhere you pointed it at, it told you the name of the building. Very cool!
The next day at the Grand Mosque. It is still awe inspiring, even after all of my trips there. This was our Emirati tour guide that day.
Ducky (with her head covered) and Olivia
The girls in front of the second largest chandelier in the world (the first is in Doha, Qatar)
Olivia got Monopoly for Christmas. This was a two day game where Olivia obliterated everyone. She LOVES to play board games. It is really nice that she can now play games that are actually interesting. The only problem now is that she hates hates hates to loose. She is so competitive. I don't let her win every time, but when she loses, there are tears. We are working on how not to be a sore loser!
The girls and I took Ducky and Pong Pong out to see the St. Regis on Saadiyat Island. It is truly stunning out there. It might be my favorite place to visit in Abu Dhabi, white sand and crystal blue waters. We had yummy coffees and hot chocolate.
Happy New Year!!!
We stayed in and Michael grilled delicious steaks. Ducky made twice baked and Caesar salad. Yummy!
One very cool thing about the time difference between here and the States, the girls were up in time to watch the ball drop on live tv!
