By the end of the trip, these two girls were addicted to iPhone games. After a week of sites and museums, the "anti-technology Mama" in me had to just give in.
My loves in front of this strikingly beautiful building near Prague Castle (the largest ancient castle in the world)
St. Vitus Cathedral, also near the castle
Eliza on Golden Lane
Beautiful lookout spot...we pushed the strollers from our apartment all the way up there.
Another country, another Subway
After Subway and walking around a bit, Mike found this delicious restaurant in our guidebook. Olivia tried the escargot and loved it!
Vltava River
Outside the Franz Kafka Museum, the girls were very interested in the moving "tee-tee" fountain :-)
One of the major highlights of the trip for the girls--the bubble maker people
It is actually really cool and fun to watch how big they can get the bubbles
We stopped in one of the souvenir shops to get our obligatory magnet and the shop owner gave Olivia this brochure about the Prague Astronomical Clock. Olivia loved the brochure and the real thing. She was thrilled to see the hourly "Walk of the Apostles".
After seeing the clock do its thing, we sat in the beautiful Old Town Square for several hours.
Olivia found a bubble person that had smaller sticks for children to test out their bubble making abilities. She could have done it ALL DAY LONG! She was so determined and really got the hang of it.
Eliza slept through the clock and the bubble making, while...
Mama and Daddy enjoyed yummy Czech red wine
and Olivia made bubbles
The river with Charles Bridge and the Castle in the background
On our last full day in Prague, we visited the Jewish district. This is the Old Jewish Cemetery, established in the 15th century. It was truly fascinating.
By the end of the trip, the girls were requesting schnitzel and goulash at every restaurant. They loved it!
About to cross the Charles Bridge one last time.
After putting the girls to bed every night, Mike and I stayed up late playing a version of Gin Rummy that my brother, Chris taught me this summer. We became completely addicted to it!
This is what you get after 10 days and three cities in Europe. These girls were exhausted and ready to get home after being away for 2 months (at the airport in Frankfurt). We were all ready to sleep in our own beds again.
We were quite the show upon arrival in Abu Dhabi. That would be 7 bags, two carry-ons, two car seats, and two strollers. This was all of our loot from the shopping spree that was the summer. We stored 5 of these bags in the airport in Prague. Thank goodness for cheap porters in Abu Dhabi!
