Eliza's 6th Birthday Party

Eliza had very specific ideas about what she wanted for her birthday party. Sh has been planning it for 6 months. She wanted a "Cowboy, Cowgirl, Camp Birthday Party at Home".  Eventually we settled on just a cowgirl party at home, with a movie!

Eliza insisted on a two tiered cake.  Thankfully, the cake maker offered to do one of the tiers in styrofoam

Happy birthday, my fun loving sweet girl!  We love you so!

Another major birthday girl request for her party, watching Toy Story 2 with her friends.  Due to technical difficulties, the girls had to watch it in our room. It was a giant blanket pillow party

May: Mary Poppins, Dance Recital, Eliza is 6, Sushi, Bridging

My Little Star of the Week!

Eliza was chosen to be the Star of the Week for being kind.  You are supposed to bring in maybe 3-5 pictures when it is your turn.  Eliza brought in over 20!  She couldn't decide, so she brought them all in.

My favorite answer: "My best friend is everybody"

The last snow cones sale of the year.  The mommies enjoyed one this week.

Mike read about this super interesting show at NYU Abu Dhabi.  It was done by Kid Koala, based on his graphic novel.  It was a robot puppet show with a string quartet and dj!  Too difficult to explain, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the sets used during the live filming we watched.

We went to see Marry Poppins at the newly opened Dubai Opera

Burj Khalifa just behind the opera house

My Mother's Day card from Olivia. Too funny that she included "Workout" and "Coffee".  She knows me well!
"Coffee" again :-)

Eliza performed at the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast.  When it was time to touch her toes for the Spanish version of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes", she was the only one who didn't bend to touch her toes. I asked her later why she didn't go down and touch her toes.  Her response, "Its a lot of work to touch your toes.  You have to go all the way down and then come all the way back up".  HA! She cracks me up!

My sweet Abu Dhabi besties took me out to Loca for my birthday

They gave me a gift certificate to Emirates Palace Spa.  It was amazing!  I had a facial and massage one day.

Another day I had a Moroccan Bath.  This entire room with the heated stone table was all for me.  It was unreal!

So excited to be able to bring this paper mache, glitter ridden thing home.  Yay!

On the last day of horse back lessons, Olivia got to pick her horse (she chose Floss, her favorite) and got to ride bareback for the first time

Olivia's Brownie troop end of the year celebration at a Sushi making class

It was actually really yummy

We invited Eliza's bestie, Breece, to join us for Eliza's birthday dinner

They asked me three times how to spell her name and they still came up with "Elyza"

Eliza's first choice for her birthday dinner was El Patio in Houston.  We had to settle for Cantina Laredo at Khalidya Mall :)

Eliza's birthday gift--the blue bike she so desperately wanted when she saw it at GoSports.  We secretly went back and bought it for her the same day she saw it.

Bridging Ceremony.  These Brownies bridged to Juniors

For my birthday, we went to Market Kitchen, my favorite restaurant in Abu Dhabi.  They had an amazing 4 course brunch that was so so yummy!

At one point I ended up with three drinks!

Everybody's happy!

These girls love blankets!!
